Four Days in Jefferson's Virginia

Day 1:   Take a tour of Monticello, stop at Carter Mountain Orchard for the latest fresh fruit, drive south on Route 29 to Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards for wine tasting.  Visit Loving Cup Winery while you are in the neighborhood.  Dine at Pippin Hill.

Day 2:  After staying overnight in C-ville, jump back in the car and drive south on Route 29 to Covesville Store, stop in and look at the ageless collection of antiques and collectibles.  Head on down to Lovingston and stop at Democracy Vineyards and Mountain Cove Vineyards for more wine tasting.  Hungry? Don't miss the Lovingston Cafe for some down home cookin'. Visit Trager Brothers right off of Main Street for some fresh coffee beans. Then check in at Orchard House B&B for a luxurious overnight stay.  Don't miss a visit to The Virginia Distillery Company to watch the process and taste their single malt scotch.

Day 3:  After a delicious breakfast at Orchard House, drive south on Route 29 for about 15 miles to Amherst.  Visit Del Fosse Vineyards, Lazy Days Vineyards and Rebec for an incredible day of wine tasting.  Don't leave without tasting a fresh craft beer at Barrel House Brewery & Tasting Room.  Have lunch at Amherst Country Club or take in a round of golf and a swim.  Relax and enjoy the view from the Sarah Henry Manor porch before you go to Ankida Ridge Winery, a must-see.  Experience the breathtaking mountain views and taste their award-winning wines.  Most of our wineries are in Beyond the Jefferson's Vines by Richard Leahy.  Stay at the Carriage House Inn B&B in Lynchburg.  Take a relaxing bath in one of their wonderful clawfoot tubs, visit a spa or just tuck yourself in for the night.

Day 4:  Enjoy an amazing breakfast with Kathy and Michael Bedsworth, innkeepers, before you leave.  Take a long walk into town and enjoy historic main street area where you are sure to find amazing goodies and lunch, not to mention a world class museum, the Lynchburg Museum! Next you must see Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest and the D-Day Memorial, both are just short drives away.  After your day of museum tours and good food, it's time to head back to the Carriage House Inn B&B.  Drift off on their Sleepnumber bed for a quiet and scrumptuous night.  Breakfast will be waiting!
