Day One- Arrive in Glen Burnie and visit the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, a new regional history museum dedicated to interpreting the art, history and culture of the Shenandoah Valley. After, check into a historic hotel before enjoying a Patsy Cline Dinner!
Day Two-Breakfast will be included at your hotel each morning. Take a journey through Patsy Cline’s life with a Crazy About Patsy Cline Tour! Listen to stories as you visit sites in Winchester, VA that were significant in Patsy Cline’s life including the home she grew up in. After, visit Long Branch, one of the most elegant manor homes in Virginia Hunt Country that has connection to George Washington. Lunch will be included today at Red Fox Inn and Tavern. Later, enjoy a winery tour at a local Winchester winery. Dinner will be on own tonight along the pedestrian mall of Winchester.
Day Three-Start today with a tour of Belle Grove Plantation, built by one of the earliest settlers of Shenandoah Valley, Isaac Hite, also known as James Madison’s brother-in-law. Continue to a wonderful luncheon location to enjoy locally grown foods, wine tasting, and an intimate, educational wine session. After, have fun at a couple of local wineries! Enjoy truffle pairings and small food bites that are perfect with wine tasting. This evening, return to Winchester and have dinner on own.
Day Four-Drive along Skyline Drive and stop at look-outs to take in the views of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Dine in a Historic Inn along Skyline Drive. Continue to Staunton and tour the Woodrow Wilson House. Enjoy southern charm, hospitality, and comfort food this evening at a local favorite restaurant.
Day Five-Meet your guide and tour Academical Village and the Rotunda. Thomas Jefferson’s architectural talents are evident in the classic beauty of the University of Virginia. Enjoy lunch this afternoon at historic Michie Tavern, one of the oldest homesteads remaining in Virginia. After, tour Monticello, mountaintop home of Thomas Jefferson. Continue to Jefferson Vineyards for a wine tasting a tour. Dinner will be on own this evening at the Historic Downtown Mall in Charlottesville.
Day Six-Today you will visit Montpelier, the home of James and Dolly Madison. Continue to Barboursville Vineyards for a wine tasting. Lunch will be included this afternoon at a historic Silk Mill before departing for home.
