Does your family love food? Then what about a fun 72-hour culinary trip to explore Shenandoah Valley’s Kids Trail in Harrisonburg, VA. This summer we had a family of four explore Harrisonburg, Virginia and test out our family food trip. This plan is designed for children from 3 – 17 years old. It is easy to adapt to any age group.
Begin your trip arriving at Massanutten Resort on a Friday night. Virginia BBQ & Pizza Co. is a wonderful place to stop before you check-in at Massanutten Resort. The Kids Trail hosted a family of four to test this itinerary. From Visit First Nights, Farmers Markets, Food Trucks, to wrapping the first day up with cow milking at Mt. Crawford Creamery, you will learn all about Harrisonburg and its passion for food. Then back to Massanutten for a fine dining experience at Campfire Grill.
The second day can begin with a farm experience at Back Home on the Farm. Lunch at Bella Luna Woodfire Pizza is a great place for lunch. A new crop one sees in Virginia is hops and Three Brothers Craft Brewery is a must. Ice Cream anyone - Kline's Dairy Bar is a Harrisonburg tradition for families.
Finally, after a full day, it was back to Massanutten for their WaterPark. Learn more at the VA Kids Trail!
