Day 1:
Get your need for speed at the Virginia Motorsports Park. Visitors can attend the many events the Park has to offer. Some of the events are the Monster Truck Throwdown, NPTA Grand Nationals, and more.
Experience the lives of the common soldier, civilian and enslaved people at Pamplin Historical Park & The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier. This National Landmark 424-acre campus features four historic homes, The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier, 5 miles of trails and the Breakthrough Battlefield.
Explore historic Petersburg while enjoying dinner at nearby locations such as Trapezium Brewing. Take a piece of history home with you and peruse through the many shops.

Day 2:
Begin your day at Pocahontas State Park where visitors can boat, picnic, camp, hike and enjoy a wide range of interpretive and environmental education programs.
Head over to Richmond and take a historic trail in remembrance of the enslaved on the Richmond Slave Trail. It begins at Manchester Docks, a major port in the massive downriver Slave Trade from 1830 to 1860, and then follows a route through the slave markets of Richmond.

Journey down the river on the James at the James River State Park’s Outdoor Adventures Canoe Livery. Discover one of Virginia's best-kept secrets as you canoe or kayak down a 2, 6, or 8-mile stretch of the historic James River. Inner tubes are available for the 2-mile stretch between the park's two landings.
