Love is in the air, everywhere you turn around! Get to your local Amtrak station and your weekend of relaxation, reminiscing and romance has begun. Ride your train to Kemper Street Station in fun, fresh Lynchburg and your shuttle will pick you up as you are welcomed to our gracious southern city. Check into a romantic Bed & Breakfast, a riverfront boutique hotel or any of our other fine accommodations as you relax with your loved one over a bottle of fine Virginia wine. Wake up refreshed and rejuvenated, grab your picnic basket  and embark on your journey. Enjoy a morning drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway and hike and picnic on the Peaks of Otter while embracing breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. If hiking isn’t your idea of fun, have a local limousine company pick you up and take you to explore the wine and brew trails. There are over 15 nearby award winning wineries and breweries for tastings, by the glass or bottle. Spend time touring National D-Day Memorial or Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest. Enjoy dinner on a Smith Mountain Lake dinner boat, a romantic downtown restaurant or one of our many relaxed restaurants. After dinner, enjoy the sounds of jazz at The Ellington or a theatre performance at The Academy of Fine Arts. On day 2, you and your loved one have so many options to chose from: canoe the James River, bike miles of trails, take a ride in a hot air balloon, enjoy a “couples cooking” class, a round of golf or spend time touring historic districts. After your day of leisure, prepare yourself for first class spa treatment as you have a couples massage or hot stone therapy. Also nearby is Appomattox Courthouse National Historic Park, The Museum of the Confederacy, Natural Bridge or Patrick Henry’s Red Hill Estate. If you are looking for a destination to reinvigorate your relationship, start a new one, or just looking for a great, romantic getaway...look to Lynchburg.
