Chestnut Creek School of the Arts offers classes and events year-round for all ages and skill levels in traditional music, heritage crafts, and contemporary arts. We are a trail site on 'Round the Mountain's Harmony Trail'. Located in the heart of charming Downtown Galax, our main campus is only 1 block from the Galax end of The New River Trail State Park.
We are open Monday-Friday, 9-5, and Saturday, 11-3. Exhibits and consignment art from our teachers are on display in our gift shop and gallery. Chestnut Creek School of the Arts also has a dedicated pottery studio, Oldtown Pottery at 110 East Oldtown Street in Galax. Oldtown Pottery holds open studio hours for the public to come in and work with the clay.
