Originally built in 1764, in Keswick, Virginia, Castle Hill was the home of Colonel Thomas Walker, guardian and mentor to Thomas Jefferson. Today, Castle Hill reclaims its glory as a cidery and premiere venue for weddings and special events. Make some history of your own at The Barn in the heart of Central Virginia's equestrian and fox hunting country.
Castle Hill Cider blends time-honored traditions with modern techniques to bring you refreshing and award-winning Virginia cider. Our world-class cider makers use time-tested and cutting-edge practices, working to renovate an 80-year-old orchard while collaborating with growers of prime apple varieties.
In warmer weather, enjoy a glass on the octagonal porch, or on colder days, warm yourself by the fire as you sip our artisan-made cider. Picnics are welcome. The outdoor tasting area includes a copper wrapped bar and beautiful cedar posts, as well as tables, umbrellas, and seating. Outdoor games, such as cornhole and bocce, are available, but also bring your own fun to complete your day with friends.
Tasting room hours vary in the winter, call or check website or Facebook for details.
* Subject to close for major holidays and special events, including weddings. Buses welcome. Please call ahead for parties of 8+.
