Day two begins with a true mountain adventure – the Ridge Climbing & Rappelling Excursion at Massanutten Resort. Begin your tour with a ride up the scenic chairlift to Massanutten Peak. A short hike will take you to the rappelling location, where your guide will give a quick, but thorough, safety briefing. Then, get ready to experience the thrill of a 38-to-58-foot rappel, assisted by your guide. Stop for beverages and a quick snack at the scenic overlook before reaching for new heights during the rock climbing portion. Conquer your fears and blaze your own trail on two different climbing routes, with difficulty ratings from 40 feet to 60 feet to match your climbing experience and fitness level. Professionally trained guides assist you during each activity, so no experience is necessary. When your feet have finally touched back to the ground below you, hike back to the Massanutten Peak where you are free to sit back, relax, and ride the scenic chairlift back to the base of the mountain. Keep your eyes peeled for the mountain’s abundant wildlife and you may catch a glimpse of a hawk, groundhog, or sleeping fawn!

Finish off your day at the new Campfire Grill, a casual dining venue that homage to the outdoors and the spirit of adventure. Camp stove chili, chicken dumplings, campfire pouches, and skillets are just a few favorites served at Massanutten’s scenic mountain setting. Just make sure to save room for the s'mores!
