Virginia is for Lovers

Camping at Virginia's State Parks

Virginia State Park cabins and campgrounds are closed due to COVID-19. The parks will remain open for day use only. Please see the information regarding transfer and cancellation policies as well as other important information at www.dcr.virginia.gov/state-parks/covid-19-update.

Twenty-nine state parks throughout the state offer camping with a total of more 1,800 campsites. Site sizes, configurations and amenities vary. Some parks provide sites with electric and water hook-ups, which tend to be larger to accommodate recreational vehicles and campers. Kiptopeke and Hungry Mother campgrounds offer sewer hook-ups. Most campgrounds are open from the first Friday in March through the first Monday in December; primitive sites are available year-round.
