When planning your destination wedding, you’ll want to schedule plenty of activities and adventures for guests during your celebratory weekend. Here’s a few ideas to help inspire your wedding weekend in beautiful Bath County.  


The Omni Homestead Resort 8:00am - The groom and his buddies start their day early with round of golf at the Cascade Course. 9:00am - The bride and her bridesmaids kick-start their day with an energizing private hot yoga class. 10:00am - The ladies head to the spa and salon for some pampering and TLC. 11:00am - The bride and her posse make their way to the Serenity Garden for a rejuvenating dip in the spring-fed pool and sip cocktails and enjoy lunch. 12:00pm - The men meet up with the groom and his groomsmen at Rubino’s for a relaxing lunch and celebratory beers. 2:00pm - The groom and his friends and family head to the gun club for shooting clays. 3:00pm - The bride’s closest friends and family join her for a proper high tea with pimento sandwiches, scones and desserts in the Governor’s Suite, which overlooks the entire backside of the resort. 5:00pm - All involved in the ceremony meet at the wedding site for a quick rehearsal. 5:30pm - All guests assemble at The Mews for a celebratory falconry demonstration before parting for dinner. 6:00pm - The bride and groom dine with close family members and the bridal party at the Shooting Club. Other guests feast on elevated Southern cuisine by executive chef Severin Nunn at Jefferson’s Restaurant & Bar. 8:00pm - All friends and family gather in The Washington Library for a proper welcome party with cocktails and sweet treats. 10:00pm - The groom and his buddies head to The Commonwealth Room for a private poker tournament and night cap. 10:00pm - The bride and her bridesmaids make their way to the bridal suite for movies and Champagne.  


While the bride, groom and their bridal party are prepping for the ceremony and reception, guests can squeeze in a few fun activities before the nuptial celebration.
8:30am - Start the day with a proper breakfast in The Homestead’s posh Dining Room. 11:00am - Guests assemble at the equestrian center for a guided trail ride through the Allegheny Mountains. And for the kiddos that are too young for a trail ride, a 10-minute hand-led ride can be arranged. 12:30pm - Friends and family members gather at the Casino Restaurant for a wood-fired pizza lunch. 2:00pm - Guests cool off in the pool before getting gussied up for the nuptials. The Homestead’s two-acre natural spring-fed water park includes a baby pool, water slides and lazy river.  


11:00pm - Head to Jefferson’s Restaurant & Bar for the after-party!  


Falling Spring 9:00am - All gather in the Empire Room for a formal farewell brunch and feast on a lavish buffet 11:00am - Heading out of town, be sure to stop and admire Falling Springs Falls in Covington, a 20-minute drive from The Homestead. 12:00pm - If you have time for an afternoon adventure, consider one of these Bath County attractions:
  • Garth Newell Music Center >> This world-class music venue hosts chamber music year-round.
  • Hidden Valley >> On this easy five-mile hike you’ll traverse meadows, cross the Jackson River and soak up Bath County’s beauty.
  • Lake Moomaw >> The 2,500-acre Lake Moomaw is part of Bolar Mountain Recreation Area and offers up plenty of opportunities for fishing, paddling and hiking.
