Big Concerts Coming to Virginia in August 2026

Even as summer draws to a close, Virginia's music scene is still in full swing. Plenty of artists big and small will perform at festivals and venues this month, from major acts to tribute groups for iconic bands. Catch your favorite artists and discover new ones all over the Commonwealth.

MUSIC FESTIVALS

Old Fiddlers’ Convention – Galax

Now in its 90^th year, the Old Fiddlers’ Convention is the world’s oldest and largest of its kind. Head to Galax August 3-8 for a week of bluegrass and old-time music and competition. Tickets start at $10 and are available on-site.

Richmond Jazz and Music Festival – Richmond

 Groove on the grounds of Maymont at this three-day festival August 8-9. This year’s lineup includes Erykah Badu, Leon Thomas, LLOYD, Johnny Gill, and Samara Joy. Get tickets.

Norfolk Waterfront Jazz Festival – Norfolk

Downtown Norfolk’s Town Point Park will be filled with grooves August 21-22. Catch Jonathan Butler, Sax to Soul, and Kim Scott at this year’s fest. Get tickets.

Shenandoah Valley Music Festival – Orkney Springs

Head to the lower pavilion at Shrine Mont for this concert series that goes through the end of the summer. Featured performers this month include The Bacon Brothers and The Pet Sounds Band. Get tickets.
