Music festival season is in full swing by the time June rolls around, and many big-name musicians will be performing at festivals and venues around Virginia. From small tribute bands to the biggest names in pop and country, catch your favorite artists and discover new ones all over the Commonwealth.

MUSIC FESTIVALS

Point Break Festival

June 1 & 2 – This year, Virginia Beach serves as the setting for this brand-new festival. Despite being its first year, Point Break is already offering heavy hitters in its lineup like Stephen Marley, Sublime, and Wiz Khalifa.

Shockoe Sessions Live! “Honoring the Carter Fold”

June 4 - In Your Ear Studios in Richmond will be hosting four artists performing songs from the original Carter Family, the First Family of Country Music. Artists include Elizabeth Wise, Jackie Frost, Ramona Martinez, and Elizabeth LaPrelle. Join in person or online via YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and Twitter and feel the love and magic that makes this such an incredible community event.

Shockoe Sessions Live! featuring Holy Roller

June 18 - In Your Ear Studios in Richmond will be hosting country Americana act Holy Roller. Join in person or online via YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and Twitter and feel the love and magic that makes this such an incredible community event.

Hampton Jazz & Music Festival

June 28-30 – This festival was created in 1968 and describes itself as “more of a reunion” and provides a way to celebrate not just jazz music, but culture, friends, and life as well.

Red Wing Roots Music Festival

June 21-23 – Hosted by Virginia’s own The Steel Wheels, this festival provides a family-friendly way to celebrate music and the great outdoors. In addition to the music you love, Red Wing Roots offers camping/lodging options, activities such as morning yoga and fun runs, and kid-friendly fun ranging from face painting to an intensive camp for young string-players.
