The Virginian Railway Heritage Trail has been formed to locate and identify surviving structures and facilities of the old Virginian railroad which was merged into the Norfolk & Western railroad in 1959. Additionally, through the VHT, persons may learn some of the interesting history of the old railroad by visiting any and/or all of the thirty two identified locations in Virginia and West Virginia, accessible to the public.
