Appalachian Trail

What is the Appalachian Trail? We asked dozens of hikers at the 30th annual Appalachian Trail Days Festival in Damascus and got some awe-inspiring answers that changed our understanding of the legendary path. These individuals found more than friends and scenic views along the way, they discovered family and a deep appreciation for how thousands of miles can heal and change people irrevocably.

Whether hiking through a small section of the 544 miles of untamed wilderness or conquering the entire Appalachian Trail, create your own perspective and find out more about the endless beauty that is Virginia.
