It's the year of country music in Virginia! 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of The Crooked Road - Virginia's Heritage Music Trail, which winds through 300 miles of scenic terrain in Southwest Virginia, a region alive with old-time and bluegrass music. Celebrate milestone anniversaries at several major Crooked Road music venues with dozens of special concerts and events throughout the year. 

  • The iconic Carter Family Fold celebrates 50 years in 2024 with weekly Saturday night concerts featuring some of the best regional country and bluegrass artists. 
  • The Birthplace of Country Music Museum celebrates 10 years with live music events including Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion on September 13-15, a music festival featuring renowned artists from various genres.
  • The Floyd Country Store celebrates 40 years of their Friday Night Jamboree which draws music lovers from around the world to the quaint general store with authentic old-time and bluegrass performances and local jam sessions spilling out into the streets.

Plan your road trip along the Crooked Road and experience 19 counties, four cities, and 54 towns buzzing with mountain ballads, toe-tapping fiddle and banjo tunes, old-time dance, and bluegrass melodies echoing across the region's sharp ridges and deep valleys.
