History, Recreation and Lots of LOVE in Spotsylvania and Lake Anna

Known as the Crossroads of the Civil War, modern-day Spotsylvania County boasts small-batch bourbon, craft beer and world-class recreation at the beautiful Lake Anna. There's a lot to LOVE in this Virginia destination including three LOVEworks!

Day 1

Start your visit at the Spotsylvania Visitor Center where you'll see your first LOVEwork and find regional information on the historic sites and modern amenities in Spotsylvania County. Make sure to pick up your African American Heritage Trail brochure or download the app to uncover many lesser-known stories from the Civil War to Civil Rights. Then head out to explore battlefields, visit the Shannon Air Museum or do a free tour and tasting at A. Smith Bowman Distillery where the second LOVEwork resides.
