The brand new Hampton Aquaplex is a state-of-the-art swim facility consisting of an 8-lane 50-meter competition pool with two moveable bulkheads, the pool goes as deep as 13 feet to accommodate diving. There is also an 8-lane-25 yard programming and competition warm-up pool. There are 1,500 elevated seats for spectator viewing and 750-Seats on-deck for competitors. There is a 2,300-square-foot Multipurpose Room and a Team Room with 1,270 square feet of space.
Located in Fairfax, the St. James Center is a massive indoor facility, along with many other features the facility boasts an indoor 52-meter Olympic sized training and competition pool, with a removable headwall and 20 track start blocks.
This state-of-the-art swim center in Stafford is the premier choice for hosting swimming events. At 76,000 square feet, there is plenty of space for events large and small. Inside the facility is a 50-meter competition pool, over 800 spectator seats, a 25-yard recreation pool, heated therapy pool, group exercise room, fitness room, hard court gym and café grille to serve guests.
The Virginia Tech Hokies’ men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams not only practice at the CAC, but now call it home. The 50-meter Olympic-style pool supports 2-6 foot bulkheads, a Colorado scoreboard with video surrounded by diving boards and a 10-meter platform. The aquatic center not only serves as host to the Hokies’ home meets, but has taken the lead in Virginia for hosting age group championships. Balcony seating for 1,000 spectators creates a welcoming environment for all visitors. In addition to the competitive pool the CAC provides leisure recreation for their citizens by including a pool with water slides, spray fountains, beach entry and a therapy pool.
This state-of-the-art, 54,000 square-foot facility features the 50-meter competition pool used in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials where 21 American records and 9 World records were set. The 50-meter, 8-lane Myrtha competition pool has moveable bulkheads that convert to 22-short course lanes. In addition to the competition pool, the facility is home to a 25-yard, 6-lane multipurpose pool that allows for warm-up/cool-down to run concurrently with meets taking place in the competition pool. There is grandstand seating in the competition pool area for 700 spectators with completely unobstructed viewing of the full facility making this a very spectator-friendly pool.
This state of the art aquatics center is the ideal location for a swim meet given its longer than traditional 25 yard pools and a movable bulkhead that provides the flexibility for numerous configurations for a swim meet which includes 8 lanes at 25 yards for competition and 15 lanes at 25 yards for practice/public swim. Three of the courses are certified by USA Swimming.
The state-of-the-art 75,000-square-foot Liberty Natatorium will elevate Liberty University’s NCAA Division I women’s swimming & diving team and men’s club swimming and water polo programs. The facility will feature a nine-lane, 50-meter pool with a movable bulkhead. A separate 17-foot-deep diving well will include 1- and 3-meter springboards and a three-column tower, featuring 1, 3, 5, 7.5 and 10-meter platforms. The 25-yard wide pool can be divided into 20 lanes for short-course training, with an additional eight lanes in the diving well, allowing multiple teams to practice concurrently. The natatorium, currently under construction, is expected to open November 2017.
The Jim McKay Natatorium, located inside the Aquatic and Fitness Center of George Mason University, has been the host facility for the past five CAA Swimming and Diving Championships and is expected to become the annual home of that event. The 66,000 square-foot, two-pool complex features a 50-meter Olympic-sized pool and a 25-yard recreational pool. The Aquatic and Fitness Center also includes a fitness gallery, four classrooms, whirlpool and sauna.
Located in Virginia Beach, this facility is an 83,931 square foot multi-faceted center. Facilities include a 50 meter by 25 meter competitive pool, gymnasium, multi-purpose rooms, dance and aerobic studio, two racquetball courts, bowling lanes, weight room, craft workshop and a demonstration kitchen. The Brittingham-Midtown Community Center is a multi-purpose center with 80,415 sq. ft. of recreation space, including a 500-seat natatorium with a 50-meter indoor pool, 10 competitive scored and timed lanes, a 3-meter diving board, two 1-meter diving boards and a 14-foot diving well. The center features therapeutic areas and mature adult recreation areas, seven multi-purpose rooms, a 100-person meeting room, two full-scale demonstration kitchens, and a 14,000 sq. ft. covered outdoor area for special events.
