Virginia is for Lovers

Virginia Theme Parks

Beckoning families year after year ...

Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion are two of the world's most spectacular theme parks. Stretch your stay and enjoy both!

Kings Dominion

A 400-acre theme and water park, Kings Dominion, is home to more than 60 rides and attractions, including 12 world-class roller coasters known to international coaster enthusiasts. Located just 20 miles north of Richmond and 75 miles south of Washington, D.C., this Central Virginia theme park opens its gates to more than 13 million visitors a year.

Halloween HAUNT

This year the horror of Halloween HAUNT grows to epic proportions with the addition of new attractions. Test your fears in the all-new Maze of Madness, or check out three new live shows throughout the night. No matter what you decide, we know you will be screaming for more! Opens September 22 weekends through October 28.

The Great Pumpkin Fest

Families and kids can participate in a collection of scare-free Halloween activities for kids presented by the PEANUTS characters like pumpkin decorating and so much more.

New for 2018

Wood and steel intertwine into twisting barrel roll drops, dynamic inversions and gravity-defying weightlessness on the park’s newest coaster, Twisted Timbers. Twisted Timbers is an innovative hybrid coaster that uses the latest technology to combine wood supports with a steel track to give riders an exhilarating experience with maneuvers previously unimaginable on a traditional wooden coaster.

Twisted Timbers

WinterFest will be making its debut in November! The theme park will be magically transformed into a winter wonderland full of enchantment and holiday cheer! Become immersed in the season's spirit with spectacular holiday lights and decor, world-class live entertainment, savory treats and fanciful experiences throughout.

Busch Gardens®

Roller Coaster

The European setting of Busch Gardens® has been voted "The World's Most Beautiful Theme Park" every year since 1990, and proves to be a delight for adults. But it's the rides that thrill the kids and give it another distinction, "The World's Favorite Theme Park!"

Visit England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany and Italy without the hassle of passports, customs and language barriers. Every country at Busch Gardens showcases popular foods, landmarks, gardens, shops and entertainment that put you in the middle of a particular European village. Hit the roller coasters of each country, too. Two of Busch Gardens' six coasters are rated in the Top 25 in the World!

Howl-O-Scream®

Busch Gardens' Howl-O-Scream® offers chills and thrills to guests brave enough to venture into this cursed park. Navigate through Wendigo Woods™, one of five Terror-tories™; brave a darkly entertaining show like Monster Stomp™ on Ripper Row™ or explore six haunted houses waiting for those daring enough to enter the park after dark. Be warned, at 6 p.m. Busch Gardens® becomes a seriously scary place and may not be suitable for little ones. Please use discretion when bringing children into the park at this time. The curse spreads September 15 and continues weekends through October 28.

New in 2018

Busch Gardens' new virtual reality ride, debuted in spring 2018. Battle For Eire™—Action VR Ride is a marriage of a motion-based theater simulator with state-of-the-art 360-degree virtual reality headsets, creating an innovative experience unlike any other in the attraction industry. Riders will be completely immersed within the story and be able to see, hear and feel actions happening all around them, both through the virtual reality headsets and within the motions of the simulator.

InvadR The Vikings are taking over New France this spring as Busch Gardens Williamsburg adds InvadR to its collection of world-class coasters. This family thrill ride is the park’s first wooden coaster. Fly over InvadR’s nine air-time hills, including a 74-foot plunge that reaches speeds of almost 50 miles per hour.

Busch Gardens TempestoTempesto recreates the signature stunt of the classic Italian daredevil for which it is named. Tight turns are entered at 63 miles per hour only to complete inversions at 154 feet. Three launches create the signature loop-the-loop in this invigorating 55-second ride.

Verbolten is a world-class coaster experience. Ride along through the Black Forest of Germany's Oktoberfest area on this multi-launch, electromagnetic, indoor/outdoor, completely exhilarating new ride. Beware the unexpected twists, turns, and plunges!

Water Country USA slide

Water Country USA

Coming in spring 2019, Cutback Water Coaster will be the only RocketBLAST® coaster on the East Coast and Virginia’s first hybrid water coaster. This revolutionary water propulsion ride will merge two unique technologies – a water jet propulsion system and exhilarating saucer feature – to create a steep, smooth ride through more than 850 feet of slide.
