Day 1 - Leesburg

Arrive in Northern Virginia at Dulles International Airport. Take a scenic drive to The Barns at Hamilton Station for an afternoon glass of Virginia Wine.

Stroll the streets of Historic Leesburg to shop boutiques, antique dealers, art galleries, and other specialty shops. Don’t miss a stop at Mom’s Apple Pie for something sweet or South Street Under, a bustling lunch spot and favorite coffee break.

Enjoy dinner tonight at Coton & Rye a tavern restaurant in celebration of Virginia’s culinary history, with signature dishes from the past.

Retreat to your hotel or farmstay for the evening.

Day 2 - Loudoun

Start your day with a visit to the historic Morven Park and experience all that this remarkable place has to offer including the restored Governor’s home, the Museum of Hounds & Hunting, the Windmill Carriage Museum, the Equestrian Center and athletic field complex, and recreated huts from an original Civil War encampment site.

Have lunch at Roots 657 Café & Marketplace followed by a tasting at Zephaniah Farm Vineyards, 4th generation farm, once a cattle farm, now a farm vineyard.

Vanish Farmwoods Brewery for tour & tasting. Only place in the Mid-Atlantic that is start to finish local in their product. Visit The Old Luckett’s Store nearby for local treasures and seasonal decorations.

Dinner tonight at Tuscarora Mill Restaurant in downtown Leesburg, priding themselves on farm-to-table cuisine.

Day 3 - Prince William

Find your center at The Little Goat Farm at the Lake where you can start the day with a goat yoga class, choose to make cheese, lotion or soap using the goat’s milk or just plan a relaxing afternoon picnicking and listening to live music by the lake surrounded by chickens, llamas and of course little goats!

Stop by Hidden Julles Café for a quick lunch where you will find an always fresh seasonal menu as well as made to order smoothies and coffees.

Visit Burnside Farms for special pick your own events- our Festival of Spring (Late March/April) and the Summer of Sunflowers (Mid-July - end of August) we also open with a fall market (Mid September - end of October) and Christmas trees. Also consider Aldie Mill for a tour, history talk and mill demonstration.

Spend a the afternoon sipping craft cocktails at The Winery at La Grange or The Farm Brewery at Broad Run where you can taste your way through your choice of Virginia wines or craft beers and enjoy the serene farms that surround them. If cocktails are more your thing, take a tour and tasting at MurLarkey Distilled Spirits where they use their own herbs grown on site and source everything from Virginia.

Catch a show at Hylton Performing Arts Center where you can take your pick from a range of unique acts from the ballet to live country music. Or cap off your day at Farm Brew Live/2 Silos Brewing to check out some of the best local live music in Northern VA while sipping on seasonal craft beers and stay for dinner so you can sample some of their farm fresh menu too.

PLACES TO STAY 

  • Oakland Green Bed & Breakfast – Built in 1740 by Quaker farmer Richard Brown, the sprawling farmhouse is still in the same family. Ten generations have lived at Oakland Green, which remains a working farm. Located in the Goose Creek Rural Historic District, the main house is surrounded by century-old evergreens and a meandering perennial garden.
